Navajo Fry Bread

Great for breakfast brunch or anytime. eat hot with honey; but jelly works great too. Note: The Navajos always punch a hole into each piece of fry bread before cooking to let the spirit out of the bread
Ingredients:
1 c. warm water
1 tsp. yeast
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp.oil
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
oil for frying
Directions:
1. Stir together warm water, yeast, sugar and oil
2. sift together flour, baking powder and salt
3. stir both mixtures together in a large bowl; cover
4. Pat out with hands (can be done immediately)
5. Heat approx. 3/4 cup oil into a heavy skillet (cast iron works great for this)
6. fry until golden brown
