This isn't a recipe for food. But you can definitely use it in the kitchen. This is a recipe I got from my local food co-op. It's not exact measurements, but it's the ingredients that are important. It is non-toxic so it is great for pet owners or if you have children. Read more . This recipe is for a single spray bottle, but I started making a big batch in a gallon container because I use it so much.
Ingredients:
1 spray bottle
white vinegar
2 -3 tablespoons of borax
1/4 cup of dish soap
10 drops of lavender essential oil
hot water
funnel
Directions:
1. In a separate container dissolve borax in 1/2 cup of hot water. (Use funnel to add ingredients so it is less messy.) In spray bottle fill 1/4 of the way with vinegar. When borax is dissolved add to spray bottle. Add soap slowly to prevent bubbles.Fill the bottle slowly almost to the top with hot water. Add drops of essential oil. I like to use lavender, but you can use any kind you like. Just make sure it is a true essential oil , there are fake ones out there. Tea tree oil is also a good disinfectant so I sometimes add in a few drops of that. Put on the lid and shake up. Non-abrasive cleaner that can be used on counter tops and sinks.
