I received this wonderful snack from a neighbor this Christmas, but actually it would be just as wonderful any time of year! Caramel goodness and plenty of nuts is what makes this to die for. Ingredients:
1 (12 1/2 ounce) package crispix cereal |
4 cups pecans |
1/4 lb butter (1 stick) |
1 cup light brown sugar |
1 cup light karo syrup |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Spray two 9x13 pans or cookie sheets with sides. Put 1/2 of Crispix and nuts in each pan and be sure they are mixed. 2. Melt butter, add syrup and sugar and bring to a boil. Drizzle syrup over cereal and nuts dividing it equally between the pans. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring carefully every 15 minutes. 4. Put on sprayed foil when done and allow to cool slightly. Break into chunks while warm. Store in a closed container. |
