Got recipe from my husbands mom. We all love them. You can even add a cup of cranberries and a cup of white chocolate chips. Last night we even made them into bars. So good. Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 eggs |
2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 cups quick oats |
2 cups wheat flakes cereal (wheaties) |
1 cup flaked coconut |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°. 2. Cream shortening with butter. Gradually add sugars and cream thoroughly. 3. Beat eggs in a small bowl and add to cream sugar mixture. 4. In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Slowly add to cream sugar mix. 5. Add vanilla, oatmeal, wheaties & coconut and combine well. 6. Drop by teaspoon onto parchment lined cookie sheet. 7. Bake 10-15 minutes. |
