Nana Lena's Sour Cream Coffee Cake |

Moist, Dense, luscious coffee cake. Nana used to let me add chcoclate chips when we'd make it. My brother preferred the original cinnamon sugar filling, instead. Mmmmm I miss her! Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1/2 cup shortening |
2 eggs |
1 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 pinch salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup sour cream |
1/2 cup chocolate chips (or sugar and cinnamon mixed, to taste) |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar together. 2. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. 3. Add eggs to creamed mixture, one at a time, continuing to mix, on low speed. 4. Alternate adding the Sour Cream and Flour to the mixture. 5. Add Vanilla, and chocolate chips OR Cinnamon sugar mixture; stir well. 6. Nana made this in a bundt pan, greased and floured (or non-stick). 7. Bake at 350f for 45 mins to an hour. Done when toothpick inserted comes out clean. |
