My Nana Jean always use to make this for us. Ingredients:
2 ounces butter |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 cup self raising flour |
4 teaspoons cocoa |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence |
1/2 cup sugar |
4 teaspoons cocoa |
2 cups hot boiled water |
Directions:
1. cream butter and sugar (just using wooden spoon). 2. add egg. 3. mix well. 4. fold in sifted flour and cocoa alternately with milk and vanilla/. 5. top with mixed cocoa and sugar. 6. gently pour hot water over ingredients. 7. bake in moderate oven for 30-40 minutes. |
