This is a favorite dessert of mine....It has several different names down thru the years....This certain recipe is from the Mama's Recipes Cookbook Ingredients:
1 stick butter, melted |
1 cup plain flour |
1/2 cup nuts |
1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened |
1 cup cool whip (from large container size) |
1 cup confectioners sugar |
2 small packages instant chocolate pudding |
3 cups milk |
bitter chocolate for garnish |
Directions:
1. Mix together the first 3 ingredients; press into 8 9 inch pie pan and bake at 350 degrees for a bout 15 minutes; cool.
2. Combine the cream cheese, 1 cup cool whip and the confectioners sugar.
3. Mix until smooth and spread gently over crust.
4. Mix chocolate pudding and milk; spread over cream cheese mixture.
5. Cover pudding with the remaining cool whip and grate bitter chocolate over top.
6. Chill for several hours or overnight.
