This is my sister Myra’s recipe. She makes them every time we have a cookout and they get gobbled up. Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef |
1 can (53 oz) can of van camp’s pork-n-beans (no flavor) |
1/2 (12 oz) pack of bacon |
1 onion, diced |
1 bell pepper, diced |
1 sm. jar bar-b-q sauce (thick and spicy with brown sugar flavor) |
3 tbs. maple pancake syrup (honey may be substituted) |
Directions:
1. Brown ground meat and drain 2. Fry bacon medium crispy and cut into 1/2 inch pieces 3. Preheat oven to 400 deg. 4. Add all of the ingredients into a Pyrex dish and mix well without smashing the beans. 5. Bake uncovered for 40-50 minutes. (Bubbling good but not burning) |
