Hi everyone. Well I made it yesterday, made some changes to fit my taste buds and it was wonderful. Read more . I also have a picture to post now so that ya’ll can see how good it looks. Bon Appetit' .
Ingredients:
1/2 stick salted butter
1 stalk celery, finely chopped
1/2 bunch green onions, finely chopped (cut and save the tops for garnishing)
2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 lb. fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined (i used frozen 51-60 ct. e-z peeled and deveined shrimp)
1 heaping tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup cold water
1 teaspoon kitchen bouquet
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
salt to taste
6 medium idaho potatoes (peeled, cut into chunks, boiled and hand mashed with no butter, just salt to taste)
vegetable of your choice
Directions:
1. Melt butter in 10 inch, deep skillet over medium heat.
2. Add celery and green onion and sweat until clear.
3. Add garlic and shrimp.
4. Cook until shrimp are pink. (Stirring frequently so that the shrimp get cooked on both sides)
5. Mix cornstarch in the cold water and add to the shrimp mixture.
6. Stir until heated thoroughly.
7. Add Kitchen Bouquet, the pepper and salt.
8. Lower the heat to simmer, stir and cover for about 10 minutes.
9. Serve over the freshly hand mashed potatoes. Garnish with the green onion tops and add your favorite vegetable on the side.
