My Version Beetroot Salad |

This is one of the easiest I have ever made. Great as a side dish for meat or chicken or anything else or in combination with other salads. You won't be sorry Ingredients:
2-3 firm beetroots (beets) |
3 cloves of garlic |
1/2 cup regular vinegar |
1 tbs sugar |
1 thinly sliced onion, (optional) |
Directions:
1. Place Beetroots in pot and cover with water 2. Place lid on pot and bring to a boil 3. Set flame to low and cook for about 40 minutes 4. You know it's ready when you prod it with a fork and the fork goes in easily and the peel comes off by hand 5. Pour off water and let the beetroot cool down enough to handle 6. Peel the Beetroots. (You can use a knife but it is easiest by hand) 7. Grate them into a bowl 8. Add three crushed cloves of Garlic (not essential but it adds a lot) 9. Add 1 tablespoon of Sugar and about 1/2 a cup of Vinegar. (estimate) 10. Mix all ingredients together 11. Refrigerate for at least an hour. Even better the next day 12. SERVING SUGGESTION: Add 1 thinly sliced Onion (Onion Rings) |
