A wonderful Snickerdoodle recipe that is easy and fun to make! Slightly crisp on the outside and chewy inside-a definite family favorite!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
mix separately in small bowl
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cup granulated sugar
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer, beat butter, shortening, granulated sugar, and eggs until light and fluffy.
3. Mix in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
4. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.
5. Roll balls of dough into cinnamon-sugar mixture in set-aside bowl.
6. Place onto ungreased baking sheets.
7. Flatten only slightly with palm of hand.
8. Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until set.
9. Remove from oven and transfer onto cooling surface lined with paper towels or onto wire baking racks.
