Mom's recipe....One of my favorites growing up. I don't understand why I don't make it more. Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 onion, chopped |
1 celery rib, chopped |
1 green bell pepper, chopped |
1 teaspoon kosher salt |
1/2 cup ketchup |
2 teaspoons prepared mustard |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 (12 ounce) can condensed tomato soup |
1/2 cup water |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Heat skillet over medium for about 5 minutes. 2. Add ollive oil, onion, celery, green pepper and kosher salt. 3. Stir vegetables and let sweat for 5-6 minutes. 4. Add ground beef and cook over medium until browned. 5. Stir in remaining ingredients and allow to simmer for at least 45 minutes. |
