A tomato and jalapeno salsa based on the flavors of our favorite commercially produced salsas Ingredients:
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes |
1/2 cup sweet yellow onion, roughly chopped |
1 jalapeno pepper |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon cumin |
2 tablespoons lime juice |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1 tablespoon garlic, minced |
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves, roughly chopped |
Directions:
1. Open the tomatoes and drain them. 2. Put all other ingredients into food processor and pulse until a coarse chop is achieved. 3. Add tomatoes and pulse until the desired texture is reached. 4. Put into a sealable container and chill in the refrigerator for several hours. |
