My mom makes these every christmas. it seems like it isn't christmas if she doesn't make them. they are a good addition to our holiday table and i hope u think the same about yours. She wanted me to post this because it was passed down from her grandmother to her mother and then to her and now to me. Read more . I hope you enjoy! Ingredients:
dough |
2 8oz. cream cheese |
8c.flour |
4 sticks butter(blue bonnett works best mom says *softened*) |
filling |
4c. brown sugar |
1 doz. eggs(large eggs if possible if not mediums will work.) |
2lbs.chopped walnuts( peanuts and pecans will work just as well also. finely chop which ever nutz u prefer.) |
Directions:
1. Roll dough into 1 inch balls,place into ungreased muffin pan, press all the way up the sides. 2. Place 1tsp-1 1/2tsp. full of the fiiling into each prepared muffin cup. 3. Preheat oven to 350 degree and bake for 15-20 minutes or until done. 4. Pull out of oven let cool for about 5 minutes. 5. store in an air tight container of zip lock bags. 6. *If u freeze them they will last in there for 6 months. 7. * this recipe can easily be doubled if you prefer.* |
