My Mamma's Red Clam Linguini

I ask my mom to make this for me for my birthday every year! Dishes always taste better when somebody else did all the work! :)
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons olive oil
8 garlic cloves, chopped small
2 (14 ounce) cans ready cut canned tomatoes
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
1 (3 lb) can clams
black pepper
2 tablespoons basil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cayenne powder
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 cup dry white wine
Directions:
1. Heat olive oil in large pot. Add chopped garlic and brown. Putt all other ingredients in except clams. Boil and add wine.
2. Reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes. If it needs more liquied add clam juice. Add clams, simmer for 10-15 minutes.
3. Serve over linguine and top with shredded parmesan cheese. Serves 6-8.
