This is an all time family favorite. Much better than boxed mac and cheese. This will definitely be a hit. Ingredients:
1 package elbow macaroni |
1 stick butter |
flour |
milk |
8 - 12 oz sharp cheddar |
1 package cream cheese |
tabasco sauce |
mustard |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Cook macaroni in boiling water until done. 2. Drain macaroni and rinse in cold water. This keeps the macaroni from cooking further in the oven. 3. In a pot over medium heat, melt butter. 4. After the butter melts, add enough flour to make a paste. 5. Add milk and whisk until smooth. 6. Cook mixture until thickened. Continue to add milk until it's the consistency of cheese sauce or gravy. 7. Add cheeses and stir until melted. 8. Add a couple of drops of Tabasco, a small amount of mustard and salt and pepper to taste. 9. Pour into casserole dish and bake at 350 until browned and bubbly. |
