This was the first white chocolate chip cookies I had ever made and its my favorite. But, when I made it years ago (haven't made it since, will very soon) I didn't put in the oats or the grated chocolate. Other white chocolate chip cookies i made were to cakey, puffy, not sweet, and just plain wrong. Everybody has different tastes though so...(UPDATE, I tried the recipe exactly, but without the oats and they were paper thin so I added maybe more than a 1/2c flour and it worked just fine) Ingredients:
2 cups butter or 2 cups margarine |
2 cups white sugar |
2 cups brown sugar |
4 eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
4 cups flour |
5 cups oatmeal |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
24 ounces white chocolate chips |
1 (8 ounce) hershey milk chocolate candy bars, grated |
3 cups macadamia nuts, chopped gently |
Directions:
1. Cream together butter/margarine and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix flour, oatmeal, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Add dry mixture to creamed mixture, then stir in chocolate chips, grated chocolate, and nuts gently. Drop with tablespoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. |
