This is so good and so very easy. The flavors of the ingredients meld together and work so well together. This is my DH's favorite Chinese dipping sauce for fried won ton's. Ingredients:
4 tablespoons ketchup |
2 tablespoons granulated sugar |
2 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed |
4 tablespoons white vinegar |
1 tablespoon pineapple juice |
1 tablespoon orange juice |
1 tablespoon light soy sauce |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1 tablespoon water |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together in small saucepan over med. heat, being careful not to burn. Bring to a boil. 2. Use 2 parts cornstarch to 1 part water, mixed together to thicken the above sauce. If you want to thicken further, mix another 2 parts cornstarch to 1 part water together and add to the mixture, until you achieve the thickness of your choice. If too thick, thin mixture with a little orange juice or water. 3. I don't know how many this serves. 4. I just guessed. It should be enough to pour over 3 or 4 pieces of chicken, or fish. |
