This recipe can be doubled or tripled. Be daring with it and add you own flair. Like spice? Add spice. LIke ground beef, use it instead of bacon. I prefer to use real bacon bits spread through the beans. Ingredients:
32 oz. can pork and beans |
1 lrg. onion - chopped fine |
3/4 cup ketchup |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
2 tbls. prepared yellow mustard |
1 tsp. distilled white vinegar |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1/4 tsp. black pepper |
1/2 lb. raw bacon (option, but recommended) |
remember, you can multiply these ing. to suit your needs. baked beans is often a side that you may want a large amount of for that special family gathering . |
Directions:
1. -Combine all ingredients, except bacon, in a 2 quart casserole dish. 2. -Top beans with strips of bacon in a crisscross pattern. 3. -Cover with aluminum foil. 4. -Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours. 5. -Remove foil for last 30 minutes of baking. |
