This is a recipe that my brother John made famous at a restaurant he worked at in Florida. You can make it as spicy as you like. Ingredients:
4 lbs. ground beef |
28oz. crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce |
1 green pepper, finely chopped |
2 large onions , chopped |
4 cloves garlic, minced |
2 16 oz. cans red kidney beans |
12 oz beef stock |
1 tbs chili powder |
2 tbs. oregano |
2 tbs cumin |
1 tbs cayenne pepper |
2 tsps. salt |
Directions:
1. Cook beef, garlic, onion & green pepper in heavy skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently to break up meat. Cook until onions are soft and meat has lost it's pink color. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 45 minutes, stirring frequently |
