This is the recipe I always use when we have hamburgers. The original is from my 'Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book' (1989 - not so NEW anymore!), but I've changed it a little. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 beaten egg |
2 tablespoons milk |
1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs |
2 tablespoons onions, finely chopped (or 1/4 tsp. onion powder) |
1 tablespoon prepared mustard (or 1/2 tsp. dried) |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 tablespoon clubhouse steakhouse pepper seasoning |
1 -2 tablespoon oyster sauce |
1 -2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
hamburger buns or kaiser roll |
sliced tomato |
lettuce leaf |
miracle whip |
sliced processed cheese |
horseradish |
mustard |
ketchup or barbecue sauce |
relish |
sliced onion |
Directions:
1. Mix all patty ingredients in a large bowl until well combined. 2. Shape into patties (I usually do 6, although my husband would prefer 4 larger patties!). 3. Grill or broil (grilling tastes way better) and serve with all the other good stuff. 4. OPEN WIDE! |
