This recipe has become the standard for baking potatoes at my house. Gives a nice flavorful skin and a good fluffy potato inside Ingredients:
medium sized russett potato |
your favorite cooking oil (bacon grease works well also) |
salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 2. wash potato and scrub with veggie brush if needed 3. pat dry with a paper towel 4. brush entire skin with cooking oil 5. sprinkle entire potato with salt ( do not wrap with foil) 6. bake on center rack one hour or until done (cooking time will vary with size and number of potatoes) 7. do not poke holes in potato skin prior or during baking 8. Let potato sit ten minutes 9. Squeeze ends of potato to break open and top with your favorite topping |
