Must Have Maple Pumpkin Dessert |

Super pretty for the holidays and also great ending to any autumn dinner! Ingredients:
1- 18-1/2 ounce white cake mix |
3/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 cup water |
3/4 cup canned pumpkin |
1/3 cup vegetable oil |
2 large eggs |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1-1/3 cups white or vanilla chips |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
frosting |
1 cup butter-flavored crisco® shortening |
2 pounds confectioners' sugar |
3/4 cup milk |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
1-1/2 teaspoons maple flavoring |
Directions:
1. Grease 3 9-inch round baking pans. 2. Line with waxed paper. 3. Grease the paper and set aside. 4. In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 1/2 cup flour and cinnamon. 5. Add water, pumpkin, oil, and eggs. 6. Beat well. 7. Transfer 1/3 of the batter to a small mixing bowl. 8. Beat in brown sugar and remaining flour. 9. Stir in chips and pecans. 10. Pour into 1 prepared pan. 11. Divide the plain batter between the 2 remaining pans. 12. Bake the 3 cakes at 350° for 20-30 minutes until cake test comes out done. 13. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans and placing onto wire racks to cool completely. 14. In a large mixing bowl, cram shortening and confectioners' sugar. 15. Beat in the milk, vanilla and maple flavoring. 16. Place one plain cake on a serving platter. 17. Spread with frosting. 18. Top with the pumpkin-nut cake. 19. Frost. 20. Top with remaining cake. 21. Spread remaining frosting over top and sides of cake. 22. Serve. |
