Mussels baked with bacon, garlic, lemon juice, spices and nutmeg. Ingredients:
mussels - new zealand greenshell are great |
minced garlic |
tomato |
freshly grated nutmeg |
red pepper flakes |
salt and pepper |
lemon wedges |
Directions:
1. Cut raw bacon in small pieces, size of thumb 2. Place pieces in mussel shells 3. Dice tomatoes and fill in shells 4. Add spices and squeeze lemon juice over 5. Bake at 300F until bacon is cooked; can also broil 6. Serve with lemon wedges |
