MUSHROOMS ARNY I got this recipe from a good friend. We had dinner at his house and he served these as an appetizer and we couldn’t get enough. He says he got this recipe from his mother, so we can trace it back to the 1960’s but don’t know the actual date and source. Ingredients:
2 boxes bite size fresh mushrooms |
4 slices bacon finely chopped |
1 medium white onion finely chopped |
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese |
1/4 cup ripe olives chopped |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs |
Directions:
1. Wash and stem mushrooms then drain. 2. Fry bacon with onion until crisp but do not drain. 3. Combine cheese, olives and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl and blend well. 4. Add bacon and onion directly from skillet while still hot. 5. Blend all ingredients thoroughly and stuff mushroom caps. 6. Place caps in shallow pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs then broil 3 minutes. 7. Serve hot. |
