Serve these tasty mushroom pastries at your next party & see how much your guests will love them. You can make them a couple of days ahead, store them, covered, in the fridge & bake them just before the party Ingredients:
1 pkg (375g) frozen puff pastry - thawed |
1 egg - beaten |

1 tblsp oil |
15 g butter |
2 cloves garlic - crushed & chopped |
1 onion - finely chopped |
250 g fresh mushrooms - finely chopped |
1 tblsp all-purpose flour |
2 tblsp water |
2 tblsp fresh chopped chives |
Directions:
1. FILLING:- 2. Heat oil & butter in skillet 3. Add garlic & onion, cook, stirring until onion is soft 4. Stir in mushrooms & cook for about 5 mins until mushrooms are soft 5. Add flour & stir over heat for about 1 min 6. Gradually add water & stir over heat until mixture boils & thickens 7. Remove from heat & cool 8. Stir chives into cooled mixture 9. Roll pastry on lightly floured surface to 25cmx35cm (10x14 inch) rectangle. Cut in half lengthwise to form 2 - 10x7 inch rectangles 10. Spread 1/2 the filling over 1 rectangle, leaving a border down both long sides 11. Fold both sides over the filling to meet in the middle 12. Brush all down the middle with some of the beaten egg 13. Fold in 1/2 lengthwise & press together lightly 14. Repeat with 2nd rectangle & remaining mixture 15. Cover & refrigerate for 30 mins 16. Cut rolls into 1 cm (1/2 inch) slices & place on lightly greased baking sheets 17. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 12 mins or until lightly browned 18. Serve hot |
