Ingredients:
1 cup red onion (finely chopped) |
1 cup tomato puree |
1/2 lb mushroom (sliced) |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
2 cloves |
1 cinnamon stick |
1 teaspoon chili powder (heat to taste) |
1 teaspoon ground coriander |
1 tablespoon garlic (minced) |
1/4 teaspoon turmeric |
cilantro (optional garnish) |
Directions:
1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the cloves and cinnamon stick. Fry for a few seconds, add the onions and saute for a few more minutes. Add the chili powder, coriander, garlic and tumeric along with just a little bit of water and saute until the onions soften. Add the tomato puree, mushrooms and salt and simmer for 5-8 mins on low heat. Serve hot, great with rice! |
