2 teaspoons butter |
2 cups thinly sliced mushrooms |
2 green onions, sliced |
1/2 teaspoon dried fines herbes |
salt |
fresh ground black pepper |
worcestershire sauce, a dash |
2 english muffins, split |
1/4 cup herbed cream cheese |
4 slices bacon, cooked until crisp, halved |
4 thin slices gouda cheese or 4 fontina or 4 gruyere |
Directions:
1. In a medium nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. 2. Cook mushrooms, green onions, and fines herbes, stirring often, for 3 minutes or until mushrooms are softened. 3. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. 4. Toast English muffins and place cut side up on baking sheet. 5. Spread each with cream cheese and layer with 2 half slices bacon. 6. Top with mushroom mixture and a cheese slice. 7. Place baking sheet under preheated broiler for 1-2 minutes or until cheese melts. 8. Serve immediately. |
