Pakoda/ Pakors, are basically battered fried veggies, meat or in this case Dal or lentil. I am using Chana dal or gram seed.. Just try check out Indian store Ingredients:
150 grams chana dal |
1 medium size onion finely chopped |
coriander leaves finely chopped |
chillies finely chopped (add to taste) |
1/4 tsp tumeric powder |
salt to taste |
oil to deep fry |
Directions:
1. Soak the chana dal for overnight 2. One can par boil the chana dal also but I think the flavour becomes milder. 3. Put the soaked chana dal in the Mixer and roughly blend.. Remember it should be caorsely done as the bits of dal will add the crunch.The consistency is of a thick batter lumpy and heavy like hand mixed cake mix.. 4. Now mix the onions, chillies, coriander, salt, turmeric in the mix. 5. In a deep frying pan, Heat the oil 6. Now take big spoon of the mix. 7. Let the Pakodas get the golden colour. 8. Enjoy it with cold Coriander chutney 9. Yummm Mouth watering.. |
