My mother made the best soft Oatmeal cookies. Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
2 beaten eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1 1/2 cups flour |
2 cups brown sugar |
2 tablespoons water |
2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
3 cups oatmeal |
Directions:
1. Mix shortening and brown sugar. 2. Add beaten egg, water and vanilla. 3. Mix dry ingredients. 4. Add to egg/shortening misture. 5. Drop on greased cookie sheet Bake 375F 10mins. 6. NOTE: Store cookies in tightly covered container. |
