This is a recipe that my Grandma gave to me and it goes down a treat with the kids! Nice and simple to make and works great served with garlic bread. Ingredients:
750 g minced beef |
800 g chopped tomatoes |
100 g tomato puree |
1 onion |
1 red pepper |
mushroom |
1 garlic clove |
mixed herbs |
500 g spaghetti |
oil |
Directions:
1. Peel and chop onion. 2. Chop Pepper. 3. Chop Mushrooms. 4. Crush garlic. 5. Shallow fry mince slowly in oil until brown. 6. Add mince, onion, pepper, mushrooms and garlic to pot. 7. Squeeze in half a tube of tomato puree. 8. Add chopped tomatoes, be sure to drain them if they have a lot of juice. 9. Stir in a teaspoon to a teaspoon and a half of mixed herbs. 10. Bring to the boil and simmer for 1.5 hours. 11. 10 minutes before serving boil the pasta. 12. Serve hot with optional Garlic bread. 13. Can be frozen immediately after cooling. 14. Enjoy! |
