It is a type of Anglo-Indian soup. A literal translation from Tamil is pepper water or it's more like a rasam . It makes an excellent one dish meal . Can be eaten with rice , noodles or crusty french loaf . Ingredients:
500 g lean mutton , cubed |
6 cups water |
2 tbsp ginger paste |
2 tbsp garlic paste |
1 inch cinnamon stick , 4 cardamoms , 4 cloves , 1 onion diced - fried till golden brown |
200 g to 250 g tomatoes , sliced |
100 g to 150 g carrot , cubed |
100 g to 250 g new potatos |
3 tbsp curry powder |
pinch of salt |
250 ml low fat evaporated milk |
2 tbsp lime juice and chopped corriander root |
Directions:
1. Boil mutton , water , ginger and garlic pastes until the meat is almost tender 2. Add the fried ing. to the soup 3. Add in the vege and the milk and boil till the vegetables are cooked . 4. Add the lime juice and chopped corriander roots 5. Stir well and serve |
