Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves |
1/2 teaspoon whole allspice |
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon rind |
1/4 teaspoon grated orange rind |
1 (3-inch) stick cinnamon |
1 whole nutmeg, halved |
1 1/2 cups dry red wine |
1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice |
Directions:
1. Place first 6 ingredients on a 5-inch square of cheesecloth or coffee filter; tie with string. 2. Pour wine and juice into a small saucepan, stirring well; add spice bag. Cover and cook over low heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and discard spice bag. Serve warm. |
