When I was a teen back in the late '60's we would take Dr. Pepper and heat it on the stove, add a slice of lemon and boy was it good in the winter. This recipe reminded me of that and sounds interesting.
Ingredients:
8 cups dr. pepper cola
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
Directions:
1. In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine all ingredients; mix well.
2. Cover and cook on low for 2 hours or until desired temperature is reached.
3. discard cloves and cinnamon sticks before serving.
4. Yield: 8-10 servings.
