When I was a teen back in the late '60's we would take Dr. Pepper and heat it on the stove, add a slice of lemon and boy was it good in the winter. This recipe reminded me of that and sounds interesting. Ingredients:
8 cups dr. pepper cola |
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice |
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
3 cinnamon sticks (3 inches) |
Directions:
1. In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine all ingredients; mix well. 2. Cover and cook on low for 2 hours or until desired temperature is reached. 3. discard cloves and cinnamon sticks before serving. 4. Yield: 8-10 servings. |
