Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) can pear slices in heavy syrup
1 cup sweet red vermouth
mint sprig (to garnish)
Directions:
1. Drain pears and place in a single layer in skillet. Add vermouth.
2. Heat to boiling over medium heat; simmer, basting occasionally until evenly tinted, about 10 minutes.
3. Remove from heat; boil vermouth until reduced by half, to concentrate the flavor.
4. Pour over pears and garnish with mint sprigs.
