Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups apple cider |
1 cup water |
2 tablespoons measures-like-sugar brown sugar calorie-free sweetener (such as brown sugar twin) |
2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks |
5 whole cloves |
3 whole allspice |
1 (2-inch) piece peeled fresh ginger |
Directions:
1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a saucepan, stirring well. 2. Place cinnamon sticks and remaining 3 ingredients on a 6-inch square of cheesecloth; tie with string. Add spice bag to cider mixture. 3. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low, and cook, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard spice bag. Pour into individual mugs, and serve warm. |
