Mulled-Cider Cranberry Sauce |

This is simple and delicious! Recipe courtesy of All You Magazine. Ingredients:
12 ounces cranberries (fresh or frozen) |
1 tablespoon orange zest, finely grated |
1 1/2 cups apple cider |
1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed |
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 apple (peeled, cored and finely diced(mcintosh or rome) |
Directions:
1. Put all ingredients in a medium-size heavy saucepan over medium heat. 2. Cook, stirring until sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes. 3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, until cranberries soften and pop and sauce thickens, stirring occasionally (sauce will thicken more as it chills). 4. Let cool and then cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. |
