This popular European cereal which originated in Switzerland is showing up on breakfast tables across America. From Karine Eliason, Nevada Harward & Madeline Westover. Ingredients:
8 cups quick-cooking oats |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
2 teaspoons salt |
2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg |
1 1/2 cups dried apples or 1 1/2 cups raisins |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. 2. Stir with a wire whisk until evenly distributed. 3. Pour into a 10-cup container with a tight-fitting lid. 4. Label with date and contents. 5. Store in a cool, dry place. 6. Use within 6 months. |
