A lovely sauce from the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Institute of Chicago, 1947. Wonderful over cake (especially chocolate). Ingredients:
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1/3 cup water |
8 large marshmallows, quartered |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and water; bring to the boil. 2. Cook about ten minutes before adding marshmallowsj. 3. Beat until marshmallows are dissolved. 4. Serve at once. |
