When I used to say we're having Meatloaf for dinner my kids used to run. Now that I found this recipe, they run, for the table. Ingredients:
3 lbs lean ground turkey |
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs |
3/4 cup finely chopped onion |
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese |
1 1/2 tablespoons italian spices |
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic pepper seasoning |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 (10 ounce) can condensed tomato soup (i use campbell's) |
2 tablespoons hot sauce |
1/8 cup packed brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. 2. In a large mixing bowl mix together ground turkey and Worcestershire sauce and onions. 3. In a smaller bowl mix all together bread crumbs, cheese, and spices. 4. Add the mix to the ground turkey and mix thoroughly using hands, until all well combined and slightly stiff. (Note: Depending on what type of meat you use, you may need more or less bread crumbs to make it stiffen). 5. Place meat mixture into a 9x13 pan. Spread it out so that it spreads out the length of the pan, while leaving about a 1 border on the sides. 6. In a small bowl, combine soup, brown sugar, and hot sauce, stirring it together thoroughly. 7. Slather the meatloaf with the sauce mixture, reserving some for basting. 8. Bake in pre-heated oven for 1hour 15 minutes. 9. Remove from oven and enjoy. 10. I usually serve with a fresh garden salad and of course, potatoes. |
