My mother is Chinese, and always made pork chops in this sauce. Very yummy! The sauce is savory, and hard to resist! During the summer, I make these on the grill instead of in the oven, and they turn out even better! Ingredients:
6 tablespoons dark soy sauce |
6 tablespoons oyster sauce (lee kum chee is the best brand. i buy mine in bulk at an oriental market) |
2 tablespoons sesame oil |
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce |
3 tablespoons brown sugar |
3 tablespoons pancake syrup |
3 tablespoons applesauce or 3 tablespoons apple juice concentrate |
1 tablespoon of minced garlic |
4 large pork chops or 6 small pork chops |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in gallon sized zip-lock bag. Add meat. Marinate overnight. 2. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 3. Place pork chops in foil-lined baking pan and pour sauce from the bag over them. 4. Cover and bake for 45 minutes. 5. Remove foil from pan. Turn chops and bake for an additional fifteen minutes to brown. 6. Serve over white rice. I save the drippings and pour them over the rice. |
