I got this recipie at a roadside stand in upstate New York. I haven't tried it as of yet but I thought I would post it. It sounded good! Ingredients:
2 1/2 gallons water |
6 cups sour pitted cherries |
2 cups sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3 cinnamon sticks |
4 cups flour |
2 eggs |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 teaspoons sugar |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Soup Directions:. 2. Bring to a boil in a large kettle. 3. Dumpling mix:. 4. Mix altogther like pastry - Pull apart with fingers and dip into boiling soup. 5. Drop in dumplings and continue to boil until done, aprox 10-15 minutes - taste dumplings for doneness. 6. Serve chilled and enjoy. |
