I got this recipie at a roadside stand in upstate New York. I haven't tried it as of yet but I thought I would post it. It sounded good!
Ingredients:
2 1/2 gallons water
6 cups sour pitted cherries
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cinnamon sticks
4 cups flour
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
Directions:
1. Soup Directions:.
2. Bring to a boil in a large kettle.
3. Dumpling mix:.
4. Mix altogther like pastry - Pull apart with fingers and dip into boiling soup.
5. Drop in dumplings and continue to boil until done, aprox 10-15 minutes - taste dumplings for doneness.
6. Serve chilled and enjoy.
