This is one of my mother's favorite recipes. It could be served with any type of meal, but we like to have it with pork and barbecue. The use of a food processor will make preparation easy in shredding the cabbage. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 cup white vinegar |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
1 teaspoon turmeric |
1 head cabbage, chopped fine |
1 medium green pepper, chopped |
1 medium onion, chopped |
Directions:
1. Combine first four ingredients in saucepan, boil 1 minute. 2. Pour hot mixture over slaw. 3. Chill. 4. In a covered dish relish will keep for up to one week. |
