This is from Aunt Goldie . Her mother made these and passed them down. She's not really an Aunt. She was my Grandma's Best Friend since childhood. Not sure about prep time, with all the let rest and rise parts
Ingredients:
1 c milk
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c shortening
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 lg tbs sugar
2 eggs
2 pks dry yeast
1/4 c warm water
3 1/2 c flour
Directions:
1. Scald milk, add sugar, shortening and salt, let cool
2. Soften yeast in warm water with the 1 lg Tbs sugar
3. When milk is cool, add eggs - beaten slightly and yeast
4. Stir in flour a little at a time
5. Cover and let rise twice it's size.
6. Shape into buns and let rise again
7. Dough will be sticky, so four your hands while trying to shape into buns.
8. Bake at 375 for about 12-14 minutes
