8 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (halved or quartered) |
1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained |
1/2 cup chicken broth |
3/4 cup chopped onion |
4 garlic cloves, crushed |
2 teaspoons ground ginger |
1 teaspoon ground turmeric |
1 cinnamon stick |
1/2 cup raisins |
2 -3 tablespoons lemon juice |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients, except raisins, lemon juice, salt and pepper, in slow cooker; cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, adding raisins during last 30 minutes. 2. Discard cinnamon stick. Season to taste with lemon juice, salt and pepper. |
