This is a sweet and lighter take on the typical savoury grits with its bright sunshiny color. This warm served pudding will warm you from inside too on cold winter days. Ingredients:
30g cornmeal |
1,5-2 tablespoons sugar |
300 ml water/milk or mixture of both |
pinch of salt |
pinch of vanilla sugar |
30g philly type of cream cheese |
optional: nuts, chopped dried fruits, mashed banana, apple sauce, etc. |
Directions:
1. Add the first five ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil and simmer. 2. When the juice is reduced just as much to make the mixture sludgy, stir in the cream cheese. 3. If you want any of the optional ingredients, stir it in. 4. I like mine a bit on the sludgy side, you can add more milk or water depending on how smooth you like it. Don't let it suck up all the juice though, otherwise by the time you serve it, it'll have turned into a stiff block of cornmeal. |
