This is a SUPER yummy warm cheddar dip to serve with dark bread cubes. It is also awesome over baked potato with broccoli or just over steamed veggies. Ingredients:
10 ounces aged sharp cheddar cheese, shredded |
1 cup beer; ale or stout are best |
2 egg yolks |
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon packed brown sugar |
cayenne pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. In a slow cooker, combine beer and cheese. 2. Cook on low for 30-40 minutes until the cheese is melted. 3. In a bowl, whisk yolks, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and cayenne. 4. Pour into the slow cooker and stir until thickened. 5. Let it cook on low 10 minutes more. 6. Serve with dark bread cubes, crudité, over over baked potatoes and/or steamed veggies. |
