Ingredients:
1 cup butter or margarine, softened |
2 cups sugar |
3 eggs |
2 tablespoons buttermilk |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
Directions:
1. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 2. Combine next 4 ingredients; stir well. Add to creamed mixture alternately with flour, beginning and ending with flour. Chill dough for 2 hours. 3. Roll dough out onto a lightly floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness; cut out with 2 1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes or until lightly browned. |
