Ingredients:
1/2 cup(s) butter |
1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon |
1 2/3 cup(s) flour, sifted |
2/3 cup(s) ground blandished almonds |
powder sugar |
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt |
1/2 cup(s) shortening |
1/3 cup(s) sugar |
Directions:
1. Flour - that is 1 2/3 cups after its sifted. Use a knife to even it out as a cone forms. Don't tap or shake the measuring cup to flatten it out. Sift in the salt as you sift the flour. Set aside. 2. Combine shortening, butter, sugar and almonds with a mixer. Work in flour/salt. 3. Chill dough. Roll with hand pencil thick and cut into 2.5 inch lengths. Form into crescents on ungreased baking sheets. 4. Bake until set, not brown. 15 minutes at 325. (between 14 - 16 minutes). 5. Cool on the pan. While slightly warm, carefully dip in powder sugar mixed with cinnamon. |
