This is a rum ball recipe from an old co-worker from Prince George, BC, Canada. Great for Christmas parties or for any special occassion. Ingredients:
1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1 tin of condensed milk |
1 tbsp butter |
over proof rum ( or any alcohol you choose ) |
Directions:
1. Put chocolate chips into a metal bowl on top of a pot of water. Heat the water at medium heat and let the chips melt, stirring as they melt. 2. Once melted, take off heat & stir in butter and condensed milk. Add rum ( a couple of good sloshes ). 3. Stir a lot more ( it gets very thick at this stage ). Put into the freezer for about 10 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, fill bowls with sprinkles ( can use candy sprinkles, finely ground coffee, or cocoa ). 5. One teaspoon at a time, but a blob of chocolate into your palm, roll into a ball & drop into the sprinkles ( roll around to coat ). 6. Should make about 6 dozen :o) |
